Whoa! So I never hit “publish” on this post, and….8 months later, I am quietly reflecting on having this studio space and having now been a stop on the Corvallis Arts walk for 7 months now and met the most amazing artists and members of our community. Your support and enthusiasm has been lovely.
I am sad to say that Laurel has only one more month with me as an art roomey- and I am searching for another art-partner to share my space come this August. But I thought I’d look back and see what a fantastic few months it has been!
Waaaay back in October of 2015…… I had….
Keys in hand, car packed… ready to unload and set up! What an adventure its been this past week! Super excited, beyond excitement to announce my new studio space with local artist Laurel Thompson. If you don’t know her work, you should! Fellow illustrator and a fantastic muralist!
We’re setting up shop and can’t wait to invite you in!
This is an AMAZING SPACE smack downtown on second street, across from Old World Deli.
A little hub of art is happening here and I love it!
We are sharing the building with other awesome artists such as the wonderful and inspiring Brittney West.
Across the street is the long time local art and frame shop- Pegasus Gallery, Cyranos Book Binding, ShadowSmith, Kaleidoscope Beads and Azure Gallery. Could you ask for a more artistic little corner?
This space is also part of the well known local artist- Nelson Sandgrens old studio. We are so lucky to have part of his mural still on the south wall. Its been said this was his prototype for the much larger mural he did down at the Eugene Airport! Wow! love it.
It’s been a great sunny space, perfect for painting and playing… Stay tuned as we’ll be sure to have lot’s going on and want YOU to be a part of it!
Luck and love,
~R
